Maptcha provides a curated mobile platform that allows users to discover specialty matcha spots, record tasting logs with passport seals, track daily check-in streaks, and view community reviews. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our mobile application and website at https://maptcha.app.
2. Information We Collect
We collect information to provide and improve Maptcha services:
- Account Information: When you sign in, we process your account credentials (such as your email address, unique User ID, and display name) securely managed via Supabase Authentication.
- Location Data (GPS): To verify on-site visits and award "Verified Passport Seals," Maptcha requests temporary location access. Your location is processed solely on-site to confirm proximity (within 100 meters) to a matcha spot. We do not track your continuous location or store historical movement trails.
- User Content & Camera Access: When you submit a review or log a visit, we store your ratings, handwritten notes, milk preferences, and optional photos you capture using your camera.
- Usage & Streak Diagnostics: We store timestamps of your daily check-in stamps to maintain your check-in streak and calculate milestone badges.
3. How We Use Your Information
- To manage your Maptcha Passport, favorited spots, and streak progress.
- To verify cafe visits using location coordinates before issuing verified stamps.
- To display community notes and ratings on cafe profile pages.
- To protect our system against review spam and ensure authentic community ratings.
4. Data Storage & Third-Party Infrastructure
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data. We utilize secure third-party infrastructure to operate the app:
- Supabase: Stored securely in cloud database storage with strict Row Level Security (RLS) policies ensuring users can only edit or delete their own logs.
- Apple & Google Services: For authentication and location mapping services.
5. Account Deletion & Data Rights
You retain full ownership of your data. You may request account and data deletion at any time directly through the Maptcha mobile app settings or by sending an email to support@waaz.tech. Upon request, all associated reviews, favorites, passport seals, and account records will be permanently removed from our databases.
6. Children's Privacy
Maptcha is not directed toward children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal identifiable information from children under 13.
